Sometimes, it can be a pain to work with the plans available for a project. If the pdf size or quality is too high then it can run very slowly on your machine. This means you have to wait for the page to load every time you move to a different page. There is also a lag if you zoom in or zoom out. This is not just a waste of time. It is also irritating and can lead to mistakes. There are a few ways to solve this.
1. Convert the pdf into a reduced size pdf. You can do this if you are using the paid version of Adobe. Not with Adobe Reader.
2. Import the pdf as an image file into your estimating software. Most software have an option of converting the files to a lower resolution image file while importing.
3. Print the most important pages you need to refer to. For best results use a large paper size.
4. Break up the pdf file into smaller ones. This has the additional benefit of organizing the pages if you break it up by grouping similar pages together. The smaller pdf files typically run faster.
